HAWKS DEFEAT ST. MARY'S FOR FIRST WIN
November 17, 2008 - The CSM men's
basketball team won their first game of the year, defeating St. Mary's JV
95-76. CSM (1-1) opened the game with a 12-4 run, and increased their
lead to 21-8 mid-way through the first half. The Hawks led 42-27 at
halftime.
St. Mary's (0-1) cut into the lead in the
second half, cutting the margin to 55-48 with 13:37 left, but CSM went on a
16-6 run to put the game out of reach for the Seahawks.
Sterling Doleman, Brandon Jarman, and Chris
Brown led a balanced scoring attack for the Hawks, as they each scored 17
points.
Mikel Iraola scored 22 points for St. Mary's,
and Sam Burum added 19 pts.
The Hawks will be back in action Tuesday
night, as they host Tidewater at 6:00 PM. |
