Alan Hoyt grew up in Southern Maryland.  He played basketball three years at Great Mills High School, leading them to the SMAC Championship in 2000.  Hoyt continued his playing career at McDaniel College, where he scored over 1,000 points during his career.

Coach Hoyt served as Assistant Coach at King's Christian Academy High School during the 2004-05 season, and as Assistant Coach at St. Mary's College of Maryland in 2005-06.

He is active working at summer basketball camps, co-directing the KCA Basketball Camp, while also serving as a staff member at the Coach Wotten Basketball Camp and the St. Mary's Basketball School.

Coach Hoyt resides in Waldorf, Md.
