Tony Galeano Head Coach: Tony Galeano (6th Year)

In Tony's brief tenure at CSM, he has developed a rather impressive list of accomplishments.  In only his first year, he took a young team to the Region XX championship game, earning himself the Coach of the Year Award in 2002.  He returned the next season to win the Region XX Championship, again earning himself the honor of Region XX Division I Coach of the Year.  His distinction as a young coach has earned him a space on the NJCAA rankings committee as the representative for Maryland and North Carolina.

Tony boasts an equally impressive coaching resume in addition to his current stint at CSM.  He started his career here at CSM as an assistant coach under Carlos Silva from 1999-2000.  He went on to become the trainer for the Waldorf Mavericks and also was the trainer for the Ft. Washington Jaguars select soccer team, which finished # 2 in the state of Maryland in 2000.  He served as the head coach for the Hornets Union Soccer Association in North Carolina.   Tony also coaches in the Southern Maryland District Developmental Program.

Continuing his active playing career, Tony currently plays for Southern Maryland Futsal, ranked 4th in the nation this year and 3rd in the nation in 2000.  He has also participated on the Eastern Shore Sharks in the USL D3 professional soccer league.   Tony won the Maryland State Cup Championship with the Waldorf Hawks and the S.C. Baltimore teams.  His college experience started with CSM from 1994-95 when he was named to the All-Conference and All-Central Teams.  He transferred to Wingate University, NC, earned his degree in Communication with a minor in Public Relations, played soccer there from 1997-98, and earned All-Tournament First Team at the Nike Challenge.  Tony went to Thomas Stone, where he earned All-SMAC and All-State honors.

Tony is employed by Archbishop Neale School as a physical education teacher.
