HARFORD WINS REGION XX TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIP

Tuesday, April 29 -  Harford won the Region XX Tennis Championship hosted by the College of Southern Maryland on April 25.  Rockville finished second, and Prince George's was third.  CSM only entered three players, and was ineligible for the team championship. 

    CSM entered players in the #1, #2, and #3 singles competition, and a #1 doubles team.  All lost in the first round. 

    Playing at # 1, CSM's Shawn Murphy fell to eventual champion Andy Chisholm from Harford, t #2 Felix Hamiliton lost to Mickey Matharu from Rockville, and at #3 Zachary Stewart fell to eventual champion Brian Sigwart from Harford.  All there competitors were playing higher seeds then they were accustomed, due to the loss of Adam Steinback, who played #1 all season but was ineligible for the tournament.

    In doubles play, Shawn Murphy and Felix Hamilton lost to Adam Yoder and Duc Tran from Rockville.
