Michelle Ruble graduated from La Plata High school where she participated in volleyball, basketball, softball, band, cheerleading and SGA (Student Government Association). Her high school honors include the Scholar Athlete-of-the-Year Award and many All-Southern Maryland Athletic Conference and All-County honors. Her sport of choice at the collegiate level was volleyball where she was a three-year captain and an Academic All-American at Elon University, N.C.
Ruble began her career in athletics as the head volleyball coach at CSM in 1991. In 2001, she was named the collegeís athletic coordinator. In 2007, Ruble was named director of Student Life and Athletics. Among her awards and honors at CSM are Maryland Junior College (MDJUCO) Coach-of-the-Year for volleyball in 2002 and 2010, and MDJUCO Athletic-Director-of-the-Year for 2002-03.
Ruble served as the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region XX womenís regional director for 10 years. She currently serves as the NJCAA Region XX assistant women's regional director and NJCAA co-chair for nominations and elections, and serves on the committees of womenís lacrosse and Leaders for Life.
In 2013, she was named to the executive committee of the National Alliance of Two-Year College Athletic Administrators (NATYCAA).
Formerly, Ruble served as member of the NJCAA Executive Committee, and the chair of womenís lacrosse, and swimming and diving committees. At the conference level, she served on the Maryland Junior College advisory committee for eight years and is currently the volleyball liaison. In the Southern Maryland community, Ruble is a member of the executive womenís group Zonta of Charles County where she currently serves on the board.
Ruble has a bachelorís degree from Elon University and a master's degree from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland.
