Richard Coffin - Athletic Facility and
Events Manager
Rick has been at the College of Southern Maryland since December 1999.
Before joining the CSM staff, he taught PE and Health at Georgetown Day School
in Washington D.C. Rick also has coaching experience in numerous sports at
the middle school level, and assisted in forming a middle school athletic league
of private schools in the Washington D.C. area, of which he served as
President for 3 years. Rick has coached basketball and baseball at the high school level also. He was the head men's basketball coach at Georgetown Day for two years, and also
served as an assistant basketball coach at Wakefield High School in Arlington, Va. for 3 years.
Rick received his Masters Degree in Sports Administration from Florida State University in 1999. While at FSU, Rick worked game day management at all of the home softball games, and
was Assistant Director of the 1999 Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Softball Tournament hosted by Florida State. Rick also gained valuable experience working in the Sports Information
Department at FSU by serving as Assistant Editor of the Volleyball Media Guide, conducting research for the Women's Basketball Media Guide, and he wrote an article that was published
in Tribe Magazine (Florida State Football program). Rick also made the Dean's List while at Florida State.
Rick resides in Waldorf.
