HEATHER TURNER PITCHES
NO-HITTER Wednesday, April 2 - The weather was perfect, and so was Heather Turner, as she turned in a masterful pitching performance, allowing no hits and striking out nine, as CSM won the first game of a doubleheader against Rockville 3-1. "I threw a lot of inside pitches to keep them from getting their bats around. My rise ball was working well, and I was hitting the corners. I mixed in my change-up to keep them off stride" Turner said. The Knights only run came in the 5th, on three consecutive errors by CSM. Turner is now 6-0 this season, and also has one save. The Hawks got all the runs they needed in the bottom of the 1st. Megan Oursler led off with a single, and after Amanda Boswell was caught looking, moved to second on Heather Turner's single. Both runners advanced on a passed ball. Melanie Fowler singled to knock in one run, with Turner moving to third. Chrissy Walden then singled to score Turner. CSM added an insurance run in the 6th. Amanda Boswell singled to lead off the inning, was sacrificed to second by Heather Turner, moved to third on a fielder's choice, and scored on a passed ball.
