MIKE GARNER NAMED CSM SOFTBALL COACH

Mike Garner has been named Head Softball
Coach at the College of Southern Maryland. Mike has extensive
experience coaching softball, having coached several different teams over
the past 16 years. Mike currently coaches Hughesville in Little
League, and his teamhas won the last three Maryland State Championships
(2005-07). He also coaches the Southern Maryland Shockers, a select 16
and under team.
Garner graduated from Thomas Stone high school in 1988where he played
baseball. He also played little league baseball under late CSM
Softball Coach Tommy Morrison.
"I am excited about the opportunity to coach softball at CSM. I'm
looking forward to getting the program started up again, and to return CSM
softball to the prominence it once had" said Garner.
Mike Garner lives in Chesapeake Beach in Calvert County with his wife Cindy.
He has three children, Brian, Brandon, and Brooke.
