VOLLEYBALL TO RAISE MONEY FOR BREAST CANCER

September 29, 2008 -
The CSM volleyball team will participate in the nationwide
"Dig Pink" campaign for their home match this Friday, Oct. 3 vs. Chesapeake at
6:00 PM. Both Chesapeake and CSM will be wearing special pink
uniforms, to honor all the special people who have been fighting breast cancer,
and spectators are asked to wear pink as well or to purchase a shirt at the
game. T-shirts and baked goods will be on sale at the game with the
proceeds going to fight breast cancer.
The Hawks will also be participating in "Dig
Pink" matches at Howard Oct. 9 (7:30 PM), home against Hagerstown Oct. 14 (6:00
PM), and at Chesapeake Oct. 24 (6:00 PM).

VOLLEYBALL FUNDRAISER
September 29, 2008 -
The CSM volleyball team and Three Brothers Italian Restaurant
in La Plata are sponsoring a fundraiser this Friday, Oct. 3. The CSM
volleyball team will receive 20 % of all food purchases from 11:00 AM - 9:30 PM.
Just print out the attached flyer and present at the time of purchase.

VOLLEYBALL RETURNS TO WINNING WAYS WITH
SWEEP OF ANNE ARUNDEL
September 24, 2008 -
The CSM volleyball team swept Anne Arundel 25-7, 25-18, 25-10, to remain
undefeated in MDJUCO play. The Hawks improve to 15-8 overall, and are 4-0
in conference play.

VOLLEYBALL RALLIES TO DEFEAT HARFORD
September 16, 2008 -
After being stunned in the first game, the 16th ranked CSM
volleyball team rallied to defeat Harford three games to one. Chantal
Hebron and Tannee' Holly came up strong for the Hawks in the decisive fourth
game, as Hebron had five kills, and Holly had two kills and three blocks.

POTOMAC STATE NIPS HAWKS IN VB INVITATIONAL
FINAL
September 15, 2008 -
In an exciting five game match, Potomac State defeated CSM
three games to two, to win the CSM Invitational Tournament.
In the championship game, the Hawks won the first
game 25-21, and seemed poised to win the second game, when the Catamounts
rallied to take the contest 26-24. Potomac State controlled the third
game, winning 25-15, but the Hawks rallied to win the fourth game 25-19, setting
up the deciding fifth game. CSM jumped to an early 8-3 lead, but Potomac
State rallied to tie the match, and win a thriller 15-13.

VOLLEYBALL DEFEATS FREDERICK FOR 8th WIN IN
A ROW
September 2, 2008 -
The CSM volleyball team defeated Frederick 25-10, 25-11, 25-12, to win their
8th match in a row. The Hawks have not dropped a game during their win
streak.

VOLLEYBALL WINS HOWARD TOURNAMENT
September 2, 2008 -
The CSM Volleyball team defeated Rhode Island 25-19, 25-15 to
capture the championship of the Howard Tournament, played Labor Day weekend.
The victory culminated an outstanding weekend of play, as the team went
undefeated (7-0) and didn't lose a game on the way to claiming the championship.
Liberty Mclean (Middle Blocker) and Connie Marcum
(Libro) were named to the All-Tournament Team, and Chantal Hebron (Outside
Hitter) was the Tournament MVP.

CSM ANNOUNCES 2008 VOLLEYBALL SCHEDULE
July 29, 2008 -
The CSM volleyball will participate in five
tournaments this season. The
team
will open the season in Columbus, Ohio, August 22-23 participating in the
Central Ohio Tournament. The next weekend (Aug. 30-31), the team will play
in the Howard Tournament.
In
September, CSM will host a volleyball tournament on Fall Festival weekend,
September 12 - 13. The Hawks will open play against Lenoir (NC) at 1:00 PM
on Friday, Sept. 12. Other teams in the tournament are Pitt (NC), Beaver
(Pa.), Howard (Md), Cape Fear (NC), Hiwassee (Tenn), and Potomac State (WV).
The team will travel to New Port Richey, Fla. on Sept. 19 and 20 for the
Pasco-Hernando Tournament.
In
October, the team will travel to the Hagerstown Tournament on Oct. 11 and 12.
The Hawks host defending Region XX Champion Hagerstown on Oct. 14.
