POTOMAC STATE NIPS HAWKS IN VB
INVITATIONAL FINAL
September 15, 2008 - In an exciting
five game match, Potomac State defeated CSM three games to two, to win the
CSM Invitational Tournament. The championship match culminated a
weekend that saw eight teams playing a total of sixteen matches.
In the championship game, the Hawks won the
first game 25-21, and seemed poised to win the second game, when the
Catamounts rallied to take the contest 26-24. Potomac State controlled
the third game, winning 25-15, but the Hawks rallied to win the fourth game
25-19, setting up the deciding fifth game. CSM jumped to an early 8-3
lead, but Potomac State rallied to tie the match, and win a thriller 15-13.
Chantal Hebron and Ashley Wolfe were selected
to the All Tournament Team, along with Potomac State's Krista Plummer and
Ashley Salle-Robinson. Camille Holland from Pitt, and Kyra Riggold
from Chesapeake complete the All Tournament Team.

CSM (13-4, 2-0) will host Harford in a MDJUCO
contest Tuesday night at 6:00 PM, and will travel to Florida this weekend to
compete in the Pasco-Hernando Tournament Sept. 19 and 20. |
