LADY HAWKS DEFEAT POTOMAC STATE
IMPROVE TO 2-0

Friday, November 16 - The CSM women's basketball team defeated Potomac State 69-59 to improve to 2-0 for the season.  Nikia Roper dominated the middle, leading the Hawks in scoring with 20 pts and pulling down numerous rebounds.  Ashley Beecraft added 13 pts. for the Hawks.  
    The first half remained close throughout, with CSM holding a slight lead over the Catamounts, but unable to pull away.  CSM clung to a six point lead, 31-25 at halftime.  
    The score remained close in the opening minutes of the second half, then the Hawks went on a tear with 14:00 left to take a 52-36 lead with 10:46 left in the game.  Nikia Roper continued to dominate the middle with several baskets during the run.  Ashley Beecraft hit a couple baskets, and Kiiya Sweeney hit a lay-up after a beautiful feed from Megan Baskins.
    Potomac State (1-3) could never get closer then 9 points the rest of the game.  Katheryn Holsinger and Bethany McCarty led the Catamounts with 17 points each. 
    The Hawks will have two weeks off before their next game, when they host MDJUCO rival Garrett on Saturday, December 1.  Tip-off is at 8:00 PM.
