LADY HAWKS FLY PAST FALCONS
January 5, 2006 -
The CSM women's basketball team opened the
New Year with a convincing 62-36 win over Takoma Park. Brittany Vines
scored 17 pts. to lead the Hawks, and Christina Simms added 11 pts.
Both teams got off to a slow start with only six points scored in the first
five minutes of the game. Takoma Park led 4-2 before CSM went on a
35-7 run to end the half, and put the game out of reach of the Falcons.
Takoma Park fell to 0-10 overall and 0-5 in MDJUCO play, while the Hawks
improved to 5-9 overall and 2-3 in the conference.
CSM will host Allegany on Saturday at 5:00 PM in their next game.
