FORMER HAWK KALEE SMITH EXCELS AT PFEIFFER
UNIVERSITY

Former CSM women's basketball Kalee Smith is
picking up right where she left off last year and is having an outstanding
season as a junior forward on the Pfeiffer University women's basketball
team.
Last season at CSM (2005-06), Kalee led the Hawks in
scoring,
rebounding, and free throw percentage, as she averaged 16.8 points and 12.4
rebounds per game, and shot 80% from the free throw line. Despite
missing seven games with a wrist injury, Kalee was the leading rebounder 17
times, and led the team in scoring in 11 games last season. She was
selected Second Team All Region XX.
This season Smith is putting together another fine season for the Falcons.
She has started all 16 games, and has helped lead Pfeiffer to a 12-4 record
this season. She leads the team in rebounding, averaging 7.4 per game,
and in shooting percentage, hitting 57.5% of her shots. Kalee is
second on the team in assists, with 38, and second in free throw percentage
at 78.6%.
In her last game, Kalee scored 19 points and grabbed 7 rebounds to lead
Pfeiffer to a 79-74 win over St. Andrew's Presbyterian, and earn Pfeiffer a
tie for second place in the Carolinas - Virginia Athletic Conference.
