CSM FALLS TO UNDEFEATED CECIL
December 4, 2007 -
The CSM women's basketball team lost their
first home game of the season, as they fell to undefeated Cecil 101-46.
Cecil improves to 7-0, 4-0 in the conference, while the Hawks are 2-3
overall, and 1-2 in MDJUCO.
Cecil's full-court pressure defense caused several turn-overs which led to
fastbreak baskets for the Seahawks, as they jumped to an early 16-2 lead.
CSM battled back, as Brandy Thomas hit a jump shot and then stole the ball
and made a lay-up to trim the margin to 16-10. Less then a minute
later Tanya Sites scored on a fastbreak to pull the Hawks within four at
16-12 with 13:20 left in the first half.
That was as close as the Hawks would come, as Cecil slowly pulled away to a
53-24 halftime lead. Foul trouble and cold shooting hindered the Hawks
in the second half, as they were unable to make a dent in the lead.
CSM returns to action on Friday, when host Prince George's at 5:00 PM.
