LADY HAWKS RUN PAST CRUSADERS IN SEASON
OPENER
November 14, 2007 -
The CSM women's basketball team opened the
season with a 91-44 win over Christendom. The Hawks used the fastbreak
to open an early 17-4 lead on the way to a 53-21 advantage at the break.
Brandy Thomas consistently beat the Crusader defense down court, scoring 17
points in the first half. Thomas led all scorers with 23 for the game.
Tanya Sites directed the offense and had 20 points while Chantal Hebron
added 16 points along with several impressive rebounds. Katie Kidd had
a steady game in the post, scoring 15, and Ashley Eggerman had 13, including
a 3 pointer. Chris Velez added 4 pts. to complete the Hawk scoring.
Becca Harris led Christendom (1-3) with 13 pts., and Allison Kavanagh added
12 pts. They were the only two Crusaders in double figures.
CSM (1-0) will travel to Lenoir (NC) on Sunday for a 1:00 PM game. The
Hawks return home on Wednesday, Nov. 28 for the conference opener against
Takoma Park (7:00 PM).
