Phil Hempfield loves basketball. He is the co-founder and coach of the “Swish” basketball club, an AAU program in rural King George, Virginia. His synergy with Coach Coleman earned their 14U girls team a national tournament bid in 2008.  The 2008  King George HS program also benefited from the “Swish” club by qualifying for its 1^st VA state regional tournament in over 10 years. Phil retired from the U.S. Navy after 22 years of honorable service. He has experience coaching many levels including men, women and youth programs. He is known for getting the most out of his players.

He is excited about the opportunity to enhance the women’s basketball program at CSM. Phil works as a Consulting Analyst for a government contractor in Dahlgren, Va.  He lives in King George, Va. with his wife Janice.
