LADY HAWKS DOWN ALLEGANY 4-1

Tuesday, September 17 -  Tabitha Jett scored two goals, and the Lady Hawks dominated play in a 4-1 win over Allegany.

CSM (2-2, 2-1) dominated play in the first half, but couldn't find the net.  Some missed opportunities by the Hawks, along with outstanding play by Trojan goalkeeper Shae Fox kept the game scoreless.

Finally, with 22:07 left in the first half,  Lisa Heiden found the back of the net after receiving a nifty pass from Julia Lufriu , to give CSM a 1-0 lead.  The Hawks continued to buzz around the goal, but were held at bay the rest of the half.

CSM picked right up where they left off in the second half, when Tabitha Jett sent a blistering shot off the crossbar.

Julia Lufriu finally broke the ice in the second half, when she chipped in a high arching shot from the right wing to put CSM up 2-0, with 34:06 left.

Allegany (0-3, 0-2) made things interesting, when Megan Huston knocked in a penalty kick after a tripping call in the box to cut the margin to 2-1 with 27:35 left.

Tabitha Jett removed all doubt,  when she broke away from mid-field and put the ball in the far left corner to put CSM up 3-1 with 14:57 to play.

Jett scored her final goal five minutes later, after receiving a fine pass from Katie Hobson.

The Lady Hawks return to action this weekend, when they host the West Virginia JV on Saturday at 1:00 PM, and Louisburg on Sunday at 12:00 PM.
