LADY HAWKS FALL TO ROCKVILLE 2-1

Tuesday, September 24 - The women's soccer team spotted Rockville two early goals, and although they dominated the second half, weren't able to get the equalizer and fell to the Knights 2-1.

After two strong games over the weekend against #9 ranked Louisburg, and an undefeated West Virginia JV, the Hawks came out flat against a struggling Rockville team.

Rockville (2-1, 2-5) took advantage with two early goals.  Five minutes into the game, Gloria Berritos dribbled in for an unassisted goal.  Eleven minutes later, Berritos fed Lea Westbrook to put the Knights up 2-0.

CSM (2-2, 2-5) finally woke up with ten minutes left in the half, and buzzed around the Rockville goal.  With just one minute left in the half, Tabitha Jett broke down the left side.  When Knight goalie Anne Sullivan charged the ball, Jett passed the ball back to Melanie Tyner who sent it into the open net.

Trailing 2-1, the Hawks picked up right where they left off in the second half.  CSM dominated play, but either shot wide or Sullivan was able to come up with the save for Rockville.

CSM's next game will be on Saturday, where they will kick off the homecoming festivities with a 12:00 PM game against Prince George's.
