Description:
The associate of science degree in Computer Science provides solid theoretical and mathematical foundations for those students planning to transfer to four-year institutions to earn bachelor’s degrees in Computer Science. Students develop analytical and problem-solving skills as applied to technical systems and gain experience in programming and the development of data structures. Graduates who complete the bachelor’s degree will be prepared for careers in computer science/computer engineering in government, business, and industry or for advanced study. Students are advised to consult an advisor regarding their transfer plans during their first semester at CSM. Those students intending to transfer to St. Mary’s College of Maryland are encouraged to apply for dual admission to that institution.The maximum number of credits accepted in transfer from other institutions to this program is 45.
