Center for Trades and Energy Training
The College of Southern Maryland plays a significant role in shaping the local economy by educating and training the future workforce and enriching the lives of Southern Maryland residents.
The 30,000-square-foot Center for Trades and Energy Training (CT Building), the first building on the Regional Hughesville Campus, provides residents direct access to specialized training in career fields that have substantial growth potential.
Resources include:
- Welding Lab fitted with 20 welding booths
- Fully-equipped Electrical Lab with structural building mock-up
- HVAC Lab complete with operational HVAC systems
- Core Lab, featuring basic hand and power tools for a proper introduction to a career in trades
- Computer lab and stations
- Multiple multipurpose labs outfitted with tools, materials, and equipment for hands-on training

- Maryland Center for Environment Training (MCET) administrative offices
Gold LEED-Certified
In 2018, the Center for Trades and Energy Training achieved a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold designation from the U.S. Green Building Council for the building's innovative design, including its stormwater management techiniques such as water-efficient landscaping and various water use reduction methods.

CTET features an HVAC Lab complete with operational HVAC systems.
Welding Lab
CTET features a Welding Lab fitted with 20 welding booths.
Electrical Lab
CTET includes a fully-equipped Electrical Lab with structural building mock-up.
