When members are active, the college’s Beta Delta Delta chapter provides opportunities for leadership and sponsors  activities related to scholarship and service. Membership is by letter of invitation only. Following the publication of a dean’s List, membership is offered to all those appearing on that dean’s list who are still currently enrolled at the college. The dean’s list (and therefore PTK membership) is based on a combination of the cumulative grade point average (GPA) and the attainment of certain total credit thresholds: a 3.5 cumulative GPA at 15, 30, 45, or 60 credits. Many activities are open to all students.

Spirit Club
The Spirit Club at the College of Southern Maryland is comprised of students who wish to support CSM athletics. The Spirit Club seeks to promote attendance at athletic events and to promote interest in the athletic program. The college mascot, The Hawk, is the responsibility of the Spirit Club, and members select a student to serve as the mascot for college events. Spirit Club activities include trips to away games, fundraisers, and support rallies for the athletic teams.

Student Activities Committee (SAC)
Each campus has a Student Activities Committee which is a special branch of the Student Government Association. Each committee is chaired by the SGA’s vice president on each campus, and its goal is to program educational, entertaining, family-oriented activities for the student body.  Some of the programs the committees have been responsible for are: Learning Lunch series, evening coffee breaks, noontime entertainment series, evening entertainment, hot dog breaks, spring and fall picnics, Spring Fling activities, Homecoming, tournaments, contests, holiday family parties, special events, and other SGA related activities.  Committee membership is open to all students of CSM. Students also meet to discuss seriously, yet informally, the Bible - its importance and relevance in today’s society as well as providing information to students on their religious rights.

Theatre Club
The Theatre Club allows students to broaden their understanding and appreciation of the arts in general and the theater in particular. Club members participate in a variety of dramatic-related activities such as theater workshops, one-act play festivals, and the production of plays at the Fine Arts Center.  Membership is open primarily to CSM students. Non-students may be invited to participate on an individual basis.

Now replace the "cal" with "text." Theatritext!)

Women on Campus
The purpose of Women on Campus is to make the College of Southern Maryland campuses more sensitive to the needs, expectations, and goals of its returning women students. Women on Campus tries to accomplish this by representing the views of women students to the college administration and the student government, by sponsoring a variety of programs and activities designed to meet the special needs and interests of women students, and by providing opportunities for women students to enrich their college experience through the expansion of friendships and the exchange of ideas.

Women in Technology         Women in Technology Web site

The WIT program also seeks to help woman enrolled in any computer, electronics, engineering, or math class to succeed.

Formation of Clubs and Organizations
All clubs and organizations on the CSM campus must be registered through the Student Life Department and chartered by the Student Government Association.  Organizations must register annually in order to maintain their status as a CSM registered organization.  Complete information regarding the formation of clubs and organizations can be obtained from the Student Life Department.

Financing of Student Organizations
Each spring, the SGA begins to accept budget request from all registered clubs and organizations.  The SGA financial committee then sets a budget for the next year based on estimated funds.  See the Student Organization Financial Policy
