Grants

Grants at CSM are based on financial need and generally do not have to be repaid. To apply for these, you must be admitted and CSM must have a processed FAFSA on file.   Currently the following grants are available:

  • Federal Pell Grants:
All students applying for need-based assistance are required to apply for a Pell Grant. More detailed information on the Pell Grant is available in the Student Guide, published by the U.S. Department of Education.

  • Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants (FSEOG): Students demonstrating exceptional financial need may receive FSEOG funds in addition to the Pell Grant.

  • Maryland State Part-Time Grants:
This program provides grant assistance to Maryland residents demonstrating financial need, taking between 6 and 11 credits per semester, and pursuing an associate degree program. Recipients must make satisfactory progress as determined by the college.

  • CSM Grants:
These grants are offered in varying amounts depending on need. Recipients of CSM grants must be enrolled at least half-time in a degree program and maintain a college cumulative grade point average above the probation level as defined in the college catalog.
