Program: Medical Transcription - Letter of Recognition
This course sequence prepares students to enter the medical transcription field. Students gain a working knowledge of the content and formats of medical documents and reports typically dictated in physician offices, hospital clinics, and hospital ancillary support facilities. Students learn medical terminology and how to operate transcription equipment, including the transcriber and microcomputer.

Specific admissions requirements
Students are required to provide proof of immunization status, a completed health form, and a criminal background check at the student's expense. Students may be required to provide proof of health insurance and a negative drug screen at the request of agencies and at the student's expense.
