Young Women Encouraged to Pursue STEM Education, Careers
The College of Southern Maryland held its seventh annual Women and Math Conference in La Plata on Saturday October, 15th. About 80 young women ages
13 to 21 from Charles, St. Mary's and Prince Frederick counties participated in workshops led by women in STEM-related fields including cryptology, architecture
and microbiology.

NASA Looks for Education Partners
NASA is seeking collaborators to help with its education goals in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). The space agency posted an announcement late last week calling for "unfunded collaborations with organizations to enhance its ability to achieve its strategic goals, outcomes and objectives as they relate to education."

Great Mills High School Uses Digital Curriculum to Increase Graduation Rate and College Readiness
St. Mary's County Public Schools announces a partnership with America's Promise Alliance and Apex Learning® to provide comprehensive digital curriculum at no cost to Great Mills High School. Over the course of a three-year partnership, Great Mills High School will implement programs for remediation, credit recovery, unit recovery, supplemental courses, Advanced Placement, and summer school.
