The Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) credential is the premier certification for professionals who analyze the business requirements and design and implement the infrastructure for business solutions based on the Microsoft Windows® 2003 platform and Microsoft Windows Server SystemT. Implementation responsibilities include installing, configuring, and troubleshooting network systems.
The MCSE credential is one of the most widely recognized technical certifications in the industry. By earning the premier MCSE credential, individuals are demonstrating that they have the skills necessary to lead organizations in the successful design, implementation, and administration of the most advanced Windows operating system and Microsoft Windows Server System.
MCSE: Security Track
The MCSE Security Track is designed to support professionals in or working toward a career in network security. Students may elect to pursue a security track and will be required to take one additional class and exam.
Timeline
The timeline is the approximate amount of time that a student will require to complete the training series.

Programs begin in March at the La Plata campus and in September at the Leonardtown campus.
Recommended Courses
Series available as credit courses or as continuing education courses.
Not all classes are needed - only seven should be taken. Requirements differ between the basic certification and the security track. Also, several elective choices are available. To determine which classes should be taken, see the lists of core exams and elective requirements under the exam information below.

MCSE on Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Exam
To achieve the MCSE certification a candidate must successfully complete and pass six core exams and one elective exams.

Test at CSM
The CSM Testing Center offers the MCSE exams.
The Testing Center at the CSM La Plata Campus is the only Pearson VUE authorized test center in Southern Maryland.
