CompTIA Server+T is an industry accepted certification for accessing the knowledge of professionals managing servers. It is intended to evaluate the capabilities of the professional in installing, maintaining and troubleshooting server issues. It is designed with the inputs of leading experts and in partnership with some of the biggest users of networking services including IBM, Hewlett Packard, Compaq, Intel and 3Com. It certifies technical knowledge in areas such as RAID, SCSI and multiple CPUs, as well as capabilities with server issues, including disaster recovery.
Although not a prerequisite, it is recommended that CompTIA Server+ candidates hold a CompTIA A+ certification.

Note: This course is a part of the MCSE/MCSA track and prepares the candidate for the basic requirements of installing and maintaining the Microsoft Server 2003. However, additional self reading and study resources may be required to complete the preparation for the Server+ certification exam from CompTIA.

CompTIA Server+ Exam
Number of Questions: 80
Question Format: Conventional
Minimum passing score: 615 from a range of 100-900
Time: 90 minutes
Exam Fee: $244
Retake Policy: CompTIA does not require a waiting period for the second attempt. However, for the third and subsequent attempts the candidate has to wait 30 days after the last attempt before retaking the exam.
The exam comprises 8 domains, as listed below in order of exam importance:
- General Server Hardware Knowledge- 30%
- Installation- 11%
- Configuration- 13%
- Upgrading- 13%
- Proactive Maintenance- 6%
- Environment- 3%
- Troubleshooting and Problem Determination- 18%
- Disaster Recovery- 6%

Test at CSM
The CSM Testing Center offers the Server+ exams.
The Testing Center at the CSM La Plata Campus is the only Pearson VUE authorized test center in Southern Maryland.
