Alternative Winter Break

Alternative Winter Break is a four-day trip, held January 16-19, 2009, to Camp Boggy Creek in Eustis, Florida. The camp is for children with chronic or terminal illnesses and their families. Last year, CSM students helped the children and their families enjoy all the fun of camp including swimming, fishing, dancing, woodworking, horseback riding, and more. Join us and serve as an activity pal or family pal for the weekend.

  • Costs:

The cost to participate in the CSM Alternative Winter Break Program is $265.00.  This cost is a CSM cost to pay for your plane ticket from the Washington area to Florida.  Camp Boggy Creek does NOT charge individuals who wish to volunteer at the camp.  The entire program cost is due with your applications, however, upon successful completion of the program, you will be reimbursed $130.00 from CSM.

  • Who can participate?

Any student that is 19 years of age (prior to travel date) and is enrolled in a credit course(s) at CSM for the Spring 2009 semester may apply to participate in this program.
