Where do CSM students transfer?
In 2007, more than 3,700 students were enrolled in transfer degree
programs at CSM. During the Fall Semester, over 1200
of them transferred successfully to 197 four-year schools in 41 states.
Out-of-state transfer destinations included Harvard
University, Virginia Polytechnic and State University, Clemson
University, George Washington University, Florida Institute
of Technology, University of Hawaii at Manoa, Carnegie
Mellon University, North Carolina A&T University and many more.

Don’t waste your hard, earned college credits!
If you are looking to transfer to another university after CSM, you need to register for the Student Success course,
Transfer Preparation (STU
1090). Too many students find they have wasted time and effort on a course that will not transfer to their transfer university
or perhaps was not applicable to their program of study. Don’t make the same mistake!
Register for
STU 1090 and learn to develop an individual transfer portfolio. This course gives you the tools and resources to make the most of your experience here at CSM to transfer to another college of university for your bachelor’s degree.

Fall Semester Transfer Fair
Plan ahead to attend the 2008 Fall Transfer Fair.

coordinators from Maryland and out of state
colleges/universities. The schedule is as follows:
September 16 Leonardtown Campus; September 17, LaPlata
Campus and September 18, Prince Frederick Campus. For

Carey
Business School of Johns Hopkins University Transfer
Programs:
Over
the coming weeks, the Carey Business School of Johns
Hopkins University will be announcing transfer
articulation agreements with Community Colleges
throughout Maryland. These agreements will provide a
clear path for students to complete an Associate’s
Degree at their community college and then transfer to
the Carey Business School at Johns Hopkins University.
At Johns Hopkins, transfer students will be able to
complete a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems
with concentrations in Digital Forensics or Information
Security. A Bachelor of Science in Business and
Management is offered to transfer students interested in

your associate's degree in a computer-related field, you
are well on your way to a bachelor's degree.

and you can
complete the last two years of your bachelor's totally

Maryland Transfer Advantage Program (MTAP).
Last spring, the College of Southern Maryland joined forces with the University of Maryland, College Park to guarantee the transfer of students to the university. The Maryland Transfer Advantage Program guarantees University of Maryland admission to qualifying community college students who complete the program requirements. These students will also be eligible for early access to Maryland advisors and other resources, including tuition discounts, to put them on track to a bachelor's degree from the start. Old Dominion University will be holding an Open
House for prospective students on Saturday, August 2.
Open House provides the perfect opportunity to gather
information about campus and academic programs. Talk
with department representatives, admissions counselors and
financial aid officers. Participate in a student panel

Towson University is now accepting applications from CSM students who already have or who will be receiving an AAT in Elementary Education at the end of the spring 2008 semester and wish to pursue a B.S. in Elementary Education
(grades 1-8). ALL CLASSES

is still accepting applications for the fall, 2008
semester. With merit and need based scholarships
available, it’s a great time to complete your bachelor’s

Applicants can begin to file applications starting
November 1st. Preference may be given to those
applying for entry-level by January 30. Applications
received after the deadline above will not be accepted.
Those applications that are still incomplete after
the deadline will not be considered.
The University of Maryland
School of Nursing has a new application deadline
starting for the Fall 2009 semester. Students
interested in applying for the Traditional Bachelor of
Science in Nursing (BSN) program should plan to have all
application materials submitted to the School of Nursing
by February 1, 2009. For additional

University of Maryland University College is offering Maryland Community College Transfer Scholarships. Recipients may be awarded $3,300/year for full-time study or $1,650/year for part-time study.
To qualify for the scholarship, a student must have an
Associate's degree earned by August 31, 2008 and a minimum
3.0 GPA. Learn more at

After careful consideration, the Villa Julie College
Board of Trustees voted on June 11, 2008 to change the name
of the institution to Stevenson University. The name
was chosen for its perceptions of tradition, history, and
academic quality—three hallmarks of the Villa Julie spirit.
The name maintains a geographical connection
to the founding location of Villa Julie—Stevenson, Maryland.
Stevenson University is a regional leader in career-focused
liberal arts education and accelerated adult and master’s
