The CSM Flight Academy, located in Building B, Room 115, on the Leonardtown Campus, is an educational outreach program to introduce regional students to the physics of flight and simulation flying.

This exciting opportunity has been made possible with the generous sponsorship by The Patuxent Partnership and the Naval Aviation Warfare Center–Aviation Division with the goal of developing future workforce leadership and workplace skills in STEM-related areas of employment.

NEW! 2019 Summer Flight Academy for Ages 13-17

Join us for a FUN week of aviation classroom experiences (ACE) with flight skills development, confidence building, and teamwork in a flight simulation setting.


CSM Flight Academy is designed to provide an in-depth look at the understanding of flight for students who want to explore the possibility of a career in aviation, engineering, technology or other STEM-related career fields. Interactive learning activities will involve the science of flight and flight simulator flying. The flight simulator flying will include: ground operations, takeoff and basics of flight, approaching an airport and landing, navigation and finding your way, loading and flying local area navigation missions, executing Inspired to Soar and Guardians of the Game missions, and Free Play in aircraft of your choice. Program curriculum will include a variety of aircrafts to include unmanned aerial vehicles, ground operations, and navigation planning. For more information, call 301-539-4760.
