'Vision 2020: Roadmap to Clarity' with Keynote Speaker Maggy Sterner
The 10th Annual Nonprofit Institute Conference is in the books!
Thank you to all the speakers, panelists, volunteers, keynote speaker Maggy Sterner, College of Southern Maryland staff and leadership, and all who attended for making this year’s conference a success!
Breakout session speaker presentations are available on our Resources page (presentations are added as they are made available).

What do you need to get clarity about that would move your nonprofit forward fastest? What's ONE thing that would cause the greatest shift in delivering your mission?
Maggy Sterner is a branding coach for entrepreneurs, small businesses, and nonprofits. She helps them get clarity about their brand message so they can describe it clearly -- online and out loud. Sterner believes when you have laser clarity about your mission, you'll be magnetic to your target audience because you'll communicate your message with confidence.
The 10th Annual Nonprofit Institute Conference is designed for nonprofit board members, chief executives, staff, volunteers, community and business leaders, young professionals, and consultants committed to strengthening nonprofit organizations and the communities they serve.
This year's conference features a return of a few popular presenters, some new voices, smart thinkers, representatives of the Washington Regional Association of Grantmakers, Maryland Nonprofits, and much more. Breakout sessions focus on leadership, strategic planning, management, fundraising, and communications.
New for 2020:
A "Meet the Media" panel discussion with representatives of print, broadcast, and online media. Find out how to bring your organization's news, events, and accomplishments to the attention of media outlets in Southern Maryland.
Meet the 'New Kid on the Nonprofit Block'
An engaging first-person account of starting a nonprofit. Hear about the lessons, successes, and future plans for an entrepreneurial nonprofit.
-- "It’s been two years of small victories and large defeats, but still hanging tough."
Shift in Focus: The Changing Nature of Nonprofits and Interactions with the Business Community
The philanthropic agenda has taken center stage in the business community as businesses strive to appeal to consumers who want to buy from companies who "give back." Panelists include Todd Pittman, Washington Regional Association of Grantmakers; Diane Hicks, Community Bank of the Chesapeake; and Michelle Sullivan, Nonprofit Institute / All Ages Read Together.
