Renaissance Festival

Travel back to a time when lords ruled and peasants pleased, all in the language and costumes of Shakespeare, at CSM’s sixth annual Renaissance Festival!

CSM’s festivities commence on Friday, April 20, 2018, at 7 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center Theatre with The Impostures of Scapin by Molière. Come back Saturday, April 21 and Sunday, April 22, for festival fun.

Festival activities will take place in two locations. In the FA Theatre, the CSM Theatre Company will present repeat performances of The Impostures of Scapin. Tickets are $10. All other activities, musical performances, face-painting, games, mock combat demonstrations, etc., will be on the lawn in front of the FA lobby. Activities are either free or priced by the vendor.

In their fathers' absence, Octave has secretly married Hyacinthe and Léandre has secretly fallen in love with Zerbinette. But the fathers return from a trip with marriage plans for their respective sons. Scapin, after hearing many pleas for help, comes to their rescue. Thanks to many tricks and lies, Scapin manages to come up with enough money from the parents to make sure that the young couples get to stay married. But, no one knows who Hyacinthe and Zerbinette really are.
