Certified Driver Education Instructors will learn how to bridge the gap between the classroom instruction and the car instructor as mandated by the Maryland MVA Driver Education Curriculum. Instructors will improve behind-the-wheel and classroom techniques. Topics will include adapting the Maryland MVA curriculum to the classroom and behind-the-wheel lessons, understanding novice driver's abilities, and how to coach and instruct basic maneuvers in relation to classroom lessons. TRA-9640 Advanced Instructor Parent Orientation

Certified Driver Education Instructors will learn how to conduct student / parent orientations and bridge the gap between the classroom instruction and the car instructor as mandated by the Maryland MVA Driver Education Curriculum. Instructors will receive proper training to deliver information to parents about Maryland laws, Licensing requirements, what to expect from new drivers, establish guidelines for the new driver, review changes in the current curriculum since the parent learned how to drive and why those changes are important. Instructors improve their understanding of behind-the-wheel and classroom techniques.
