KTC-5710 STEAM for Teens  11-14 What's all the commotion about STEAM? Is it what runs a locomotive or comes out of an iron? The STEAM for Teens class is an exciting and hands-on learning opportunity for young people with a special emphasis on the STEAM curriculum areas (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics). You will be immersed in the areas of forensics (CSI), rocketry, and robotics. You will also be challenged to collaborate, think critically, get creative, and innovate. Learn about the different fields of science, technology, engineering, art mathematics, thinking, problem-solving, and reasoning skills. KTC-5710-76549 7/26/2021
KTC-8030 All About Technology for Kids  7-10 Fun, exciting, and challenging activities await you as you are introduced to a variety of relevant technologies. Students will build circuits as well as build and program robotic devices. Use a Global Positioning System to play a high-tech game of hide and seek. Practice skills such as orienteering, treasure hunting, and waymarking--better known as Geocaching. Discover the FUNdamentals of technology. This class is collaborative, and students will work in teams for most of the program. *Offered in partnership with Goldsmith Education. KTC-8030-76552 8/2/2021
KTC-8040 Elementary Engineering for Kids  7-10 This exciting hands-on engineering class uses LEGO Education building materials. Teams will learn the basics of engineering and simple machines. You will be introduced to the concepts of pulleys, levers, gears and more. From this foundation move on to compound machines, motorized vehicles, and robotic creations. You will also get a chance to put your new knowledge to work creating your own mechanized design. Teams will creatively solve challenges using concepts learned in class. Last, but not least, you will get the chance to become inventors. Light and sound sensors, pulleys, wheels, levers, and gears are all at your command. This class is collaborative, and students will work in teams for most of the program.  Offered in partnership with Goldsmith Education. KTC-8040-76547 7/26/2021
KTC-8050 Rockets and Robotics for Kids  7-10 Rockets and Robots - what a great combination! Working in small teams, learn how to write a step-by-step program to make things spin, light up, play music, follow mazes, react to motion as well as build simple LEGO robots. Build and explore machines and mechanisms, discover motor design differences, and study gearing mechanisms. Then, using some of the concepts learned, design your own rockets that you can test and take home, but not before we have our own launch party (weather permitting)! This class is collaborative, and students will work in teams for most of the program. Offered in partnership with Goldsmith Education. KTC-8050-76544 7/26/2021
KTC-8060 Circuit Fundamentals  11-14 Electronics are an integral part of our daily life, but do you know what is inside of them? In this beginning class on electricity and electric circuits, we will explore just that. In this solder-free class, we will explore a multitude of different circuits using lights, sounds, sensors, radio waves, and Boolean logic. Learn to use voltmeters, read, and write electrical diagrams as well as build a working FM radio to take home. This class is collaborative, and students will work in teams for most of the program. *Offered in partnership with Goldsmith Education. KTC-8060-76550 7/26/2021
