Register for Fall Minisession II! 

If you were not able to start classes in September, there is still time to register for Fall Minisession II! View your program evaluation and use the “register for credit”link in your my.CSMD account to get started. Please visit Academic Advising if you need assistance with choosing classes that work with your program of study. If you have an upcoming 18- or 36-credit advising hold, an advisor can lift that hold so that you may self-register for spring. Read more about mandatory advising holds.

Plan BEYOND Next Semester: Now is the best time to meet our Academic Advisors to develop an academic plan to complete your degree requirements and get an early start! They are available by phone, e-mail, and appointment.

The Student Success Center provides tons of services available to students, including peer and online tutoring, learning labs with academic software access, testing, and services to students with disabilities.

myProgress is an early alert system within Blackboard, used by faculty to communicate with students to provide flags or guidance about grades, post attendance, and offer kudos related to the class. Check frequently to see if you have any flags in Blackboard.

If you did not attend Destination Graduation, be sure to make an appointment with Academic Advising to complete your graduation application before the deadlines below. 

November 15: Deadline to participate in Winter 2016 Ceremony
December 15: Deadline to apply for a diploma

Student Volunteers Needed for the Pulse of Southern Maryland Opinion Poll

CSM is looking for students to volunteer as callers for the Pulse of Southern Maryland public opinion telephone poll. Participating in Pulse is an excellent hands-on opportunity to gain self-confidence and learn to deal with the public as a professional. 

Telephone surveys will be conducted as follows:

November 9, 10, 11, and 12

6 - 9 p.m.

La Plata Campus, Center for Business and Industry (BI Building), Room 113E 

Scripts, pre-printed surveys, and sheets of telephone numbers are provided. Complimentary pizza will be served. Due to a limited number of spaces, electronic pre-registration is required.

New Transcript Fee

Beginning Monday, October 12, the CSM credit transcript will cost $5 per transcript. You may now request that your transcript be sent by e-mail (processed in a secure PDF format that will be received within minutes of the request). A student who requests that his/her transcript be mailed will have the request fulfilled within twenty-four hours, and a student may still request a transcript for pickup at any of our campus locations. Please note that students requesting Continuing Education transcripts will not be charged.

Fitness Centers: All students taking three or more credits have free access to the fitness facilities at all CSM campuses. View the current schedule for available hours at the campus closest to you!
