Need Registration Help? Follow These Three Steps
To see what courses you need, view your program evaluation in your my.CSMD account.

  • Step 1: Under the myOnline Services Panel, select “online services”
  • Step 2: Choose the “current students” image
  • Step 3: On the left side, under the “advising” section, select the “evaluation” link

If you need assistance with choosing courses, visit Academic Advising and an advisor will help you to navigate your program of study and work with you to choose appropriate courses.

Take Advantage of Walk-In Advising This January
Due to peak registration, Academic Advising at the La Plata, Leonardtown, and Prince Frederick campuses will meet with students on a walk-in basis only for January. This helps us to maximize the number of students that advisors see during this busy time. We appreciate your patience.

Second Semester and Mandatory Advising
If you have completed 18 or 36 credits and try to register for classes online, you will run into the following error message: You are not eligible for registration. Time for your program review. You must contact an advisor by web, phone, or in person.

This is a reminder to see your advisor, who will go over your program of study and remove your advising hold, allowing you to register.

Many CSM students prefer to take classes online to earn college credit. Before beginning an online class for the first time, you are highly encouraged to attend an Online Class Orientation Session, offered just before each semester begins.

To attend an Online Class Orientation Session.

  • Log into Blackboard at
  • Enter the user name: demostudent
  • Enter the password: student
  • The link to your orientation session will be listed right under My Courses.

Types of Online Courses Offered at CSM:

  • Web-hybrid (Blended) courses blend on-campus instruction with online instruction.
  • Web-enhanced courses are instructional methods, such as lectures and cooperative education experiences that use certain Blackboard tools, such as e-mail and discussions.
  • Blackboard is a web-based, course-management system, for online classes and traditional classes. Blackboard enables instructors to provide students with course materials, discussion boards, virtual chat discussions, online quizzes, an academic resource center, and more.

The Joy of Pepsi
at CSM

As of January 1, Pepsi is officially the exclusive beverage sponsor of CSM!

To prepare for this change, CSM staff and Pepsi employees have been busy restocking vending machines, bookstores, and cafeterias with a wide assortment of Pepsi products. Don’t worry—There will still be plenty of options to suit everyone’s beverage tastes, including Dr. Pepper, Mountain Dew, Lipton Ice Tea, Starbucks Coffee, Dole Juice, and Gatorade!

Most importantly, the revenue received from this partnership will go towards scholarships and additional perks to help support students just like you! Look forward to having an ice-cold Pepsi at a campus near you.
