Don’t wait until January to see an academic advisor! Get in and get registered before Winter Break, then relax!

Don’t Wait! Register Today!

Winter Break is coming fast, and the college will be closed beginning December 22, 2016 at 3 p.m. through January 2, 2017. If you need to see an academic advisor before you can register due to a probation hold or a “Time for Your Program Review” mandatory advising hold, or if you are an athlete or international student, the sooner you get to Academic Advising, the better. Waiting until the last minute can be stressful, and there could be wait lists for classes, and a long wait in the Academic Advising office in January.

Call Academic Advising for an appointment today so an academic advisor can review your program of study with you, answer degree program questions, and remove possible advising holds.

Advising Moves to All Walk-In-Only in January

Advising Moves to an All Walk-In-Only Basis in January

January is peak registration time, so students at all campuses are seen on a walk-in-only basis in January. This is the best way for academic advisors to serve the high volume of students. There may be considerable wait times, so the best course of action is to see your academic advisor now!

Call Academic Advising for appointment availability.

Holiday Stress

Holiday Stress

Despite the song proclaiming it to be “the most wonderful time of the year,” the holiday season has the potential to deliver the gift no one wants–STRESS! One of the best antidotes to midwinter angst is realizing that you are in control–and that it’s up to you to set limits on your time, your finances, and others’ expectations of you. Another is to let go of your own expectations–especially the expectation of perfection. Instead, try to focus on the small joys of the season–a steaming mug of hot chocolate, a laugh with friends, or the sparkle of tiny lights. If you’re struggling with sadness or other thoughts and feelings that are more than you can manage on your own, seek out the help of a professional. CSM Counseling Services is just a phone call or an e-mail away.

Attention Prospective Nursing Students!

Attention Prospective Nursing Students!
