2017-18 FAFSA
is Now Available!
The priority deadline for submitting the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), to be considered for federal and state financial assistance during the 2017-2018 academic year, is March 1.

Award notifications for the upcoming fall and spring semesters will be sent to students beginning in mid to late June. For more information and to learn about upcoming FAFSA workshops, contact the Financial Assistance Department by phone at 301-934-7531 or e-mail

CSM Online Scholarship Finder Opens February 20

Each year, the CSM Foundation awards scholarships in a number of academic programs of study to students with varying backgrounds and needs.

With improved program capabilities, applying for CSM scholarships is more streamlined and easier than ever!

  • Apply using your my.CSMD account.
  • Upload documents from your personal computer directly to your CSM Online Scholarship Finder account.
  • Automatch feature will ensure that students apply for every scholarship for which they qualify.
  • Autofill feature will automatically enter student information on record.

Some scholarships have a March 31 priority deadline, however MOST scholarships have a May 31 deadline. Apply early for best consideration.

A full spring semester class is not the only option at CSM. Take an accelerated Spring 10-week Late Start class, starting March 1, or a Spring Minisession II (7-week session) class, starting March 27. Last day to register is three days after the start. Make an appointment with Academic Advising to get help finding the right classes for your major.

Students get special treatment at CSM theatre performances. Student tickets are just $5 until the day of the show, and all tickets can now be purchased online. The best deal, however, is always season tickets, which entitle the holder to a ticket to every performance scheduled at the college, and the price is only $100.

A Note from College Park
If you know you want to transfer to the University of Maryland College Park, you can now receive Academic Advising directly from the Pre-Transfer Advisor from College Park at any CSM campus. Talk to the advisor about transferable courses, but note that she cannot make any admissions decisions. To make an appointment with Lee Ann Lewis, contact the Academic Advising office on any campus.

Performers and Vendors Needed for Renaissance Festival

Performers and Vendors Needed for Renaissance Festival

CSM’s fifth Renaissance Festival is coming up April 22 and 23, and vendors and performers are being sought to participate. Crafters and artisans can rent booths for a small fee, and performers will be needed all over the grounds. Crafters must be approved and applications are due February 28.

Actors will be trained as Town Folk and Wandering Talent, learning the basics of street performance and improvisation, so evening and weekend rehearsals will be required. Submit your performer worksheet by February 28.
