After an extensive nationwide search, the College of Southern Maryland Board of Trustees announced the selection of Dr. Maureen Murphy as the fifth president of the college.

Murphy, who has been connected with community colleges for 27 years including a decade as a community college president, will begin her duties on July 1.

2+2 Transfer Scholarship
The Maryland Higher Education offers the to Maryland transfer students. This scholarship is offered to Maryland community college graduates who plan to transfer in state. Qualifying students may be awarded up to $2000 annually and can be renewed up to 3 years of study or six semesters of study, whichever is longer. For more information on the 2+2 Transfer Scholarship or any other scholarships and grants offered through the state of Maryland, please visit

On April 7, communities around the world come together to celebrate World Health Day to commemorate the founding of the World Health Organization (WHO) and shine the spotlight on a global public health issues.

This year, that health issue is depression. Connecting with others and tapping into supportive resources, such as our personal counseling, can make all the difference if you are suffering from depression. Interested in becoming an officer in the United States Air Force?
CSM students can now sign up for the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) through the University of Maryland, College Park. Our new agreement allows students to continue their studies at CSM while participating in AFROTC training at the University of Maryland campus.Participating students would travel to College Park once a week to participate in physical training and leadership lab and take classes on leadership, security issues and the structure of the Air Force.
