Avoid Being Frozen Out of Your Classes

Avoid Being Frozen Out of Your Classes

If you still need to grab some classes, sit by the fireside and go to Online Services to see what courses you still need. Check out the “New! Plan, Register, and Pay” link in Online Services to see your “Progress,” which shows completed and needed courses.

View the suggested sequence of courses for your program in your catalog year to see which classes to take for Spring. If you need help, bundle up and visit Academic Advising during a walk-in period!

Use the new “Registration Guide” to help you register in Student Planning. Keep in mind that planning classes in Student Planning does not mean you are registered. You must select the green “Register Now” button in Student Planning and your registered classes will then be visible in green. You will receive a confirmation e-mail that you registered.

Hitting a normal Academic Advising hold?
Don’t catch a chill from a “Time for Your Program Review” hold! If you are registering for your 18th or 36th credit, you must meet with an academic advisor to go over your program of study. Then, you may register and stay toasty by the fire, until the payment due date on January 11.

On probation?
Students on academic restriction will need to meet with an academic advisor to register.

A Smart Start to the New Year

A Smart Start to the New Year

Now that the ball has fallen and the last confetti has been swept away, you’re likely left with at least one New Year’s resolution. To increase the chances that your good intentions outlast the month, consider translating your resolution into a SMART goal: one that is specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and time-based. For assistance with setting goals like this, visit CSM Counseling Services.

Walk the Walk and Talk the Talk

Walk the Walk and Talk the Talk

Due to peak registration, Academic Advising offices at the La Plata, Leonardtown, and Prince Frederick campuses, as well as at Waldorf Center for Higher Education move to an all walk-in status, January 2 – February 5, to maximize the number of students that advisors see during this busy time. We appreciate your patience.
