Don’t Stress. Take a Break.

Hawk Hint

Will you fulfill the requirements for your degree this semester? Remember, graduation is not automatic! The deadline to apply for graduation and receive a diploma is December 15.

Don’t Stress. Take a Break.

Yes, finals are tough. So put in the work to study, then take a break with us! The week of December 10, CSM campuses are offering stress breaks for students.

Begin on December 12 on the Leonardtown Campus by creating multi-color mandalas and jewelry while you check out materials on self-care and managing stress. Meet in the Building C Lobby any time between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Then between noon and 4 p.m. December 13, in the Building A Auditorium, join other students and staff members in wrapping donated gifts for local children in need. This is a great way to get a break from stress and forget about exams for a little while.

If your finals are on the Prince Frederick Campus, then stop by for a doughnut stress break on December 12 between 2 and 6 p.m. The campus is hosting another stress break on December 13 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Have a fresh doughnut and a cup of coffee or cocoa.

If you’re on the La Plata Campus for finals, stop by for a stress break on December 12 between 5 and 7 p.m. in the Campus Center (CC Building) Lobby to do some canvas painting. Forget about those tests and make a holiday-themed picture in a fun environment. There is a charge for this one, to pay for materials. On December 13, stop by the CC Building Lobby for a therapeutic massage between 2:30 and 4 p.m. There is a small fee for this service, which will help all the stress of finals week melt away.

Take Advantage of the January Term

Take Advantage of the January Term

Earn additional credits by taking advantage of the highly accelerated January Term classes. The term lasts just three weeks, from January 3 to 20, and payment for the January Term is due by December 12. The pace is much faster than a typical semester and daily classes are several hours long. The rigor is worth it in the end, though, as you get an entire class finished in a short time.
