Course Reserves

The library maintains a collection of course reserve materials. These items are placed there by faculty to support their courses and assignments. The circulation time for these materials varies from "in library use only" up to 3 days at a time, depending upon the faculty member's request.

Fines for overdue reserve materials are $1 per day.

Reference assistance is available whenever the library is open. You may come in or call (ext. 6522) to get reference assistance.

Interlibrary Loan

Through interlibrary loan (ILL), we can order almost any book, periodical article, or ERIC document that you need.  Please allow 1-4 weeks for delivery of requested items.

Audiovisual Resources

The library's audiovisual collection includes videotapes and CD-ROMs. These are for use in the library and classroom only. There are machines and tables for viewing/using all of these materials in the library.

ID Cards/OneCards

Student ID cards are available at the Circulation Desk.  ID cards are issued for all students currently enrolled in classes at CSM. A valid photo ID such as a driver's license, military ID, or passport is required to obtain a CSM ID card.  Student ID cards have a photo and the CSM student ID number.  The first card is free, but there is a fee for replacement cards.  Please contact the campus library for more information.

The library's resources include reference and reserve books, periodicals, audiovisual materials, computer databases, a course reserves collection, and Internet access.

Reference Collection

The library's reference collection contains approximately 2,000 books as well as some CD-ROM databases. Included is a growing collection of law materials including the Annotated Code of Maryland, the Code of Maryland Regulations (COMAR) and the U.S. Code. All reference materials are for use in the library only.

The library's periodicals collection includes approximately 3,000 periodicals in a combination of print, database, and microfilm formats. Periodicals do not circulate outside of the library.

Audio-Visual Materials

The library's audio-visual collection includes videotapes and CD-ROMs. These items circulate only to instructors but may be used in the library by others.

Computer Resources

The library has computer workstations that offer access to the Internet, Microsoft Office programs, and CSM course software. From these computers, customers can access periodical databases and other resources.
