Another career that is in high demand is that of Electrician. CSM offers a
Basic Electricity Series that is suitable for those who are just entering, or
contemplating entering the trade. This series covers everything from
safety, to electrical theory, to conduit bending. For those who have been
involved in the trade for some years, we offer courses that prepare you to take
either your Journeyperson, or Master Electrician Exam. CSM also offers
courses to enhance your job skills, which include Wiring Methods,
Grounding & Bonding, Electrical Harmonics, Electrical Motor Controls, and the
Changes to the National Electric Code. CSM offers classes such as:

"NEW 2008 National Electric Code (NEC) update"
The National Electrical Code® (NEC) is the most
widely adopted building code in the
United States and the world, and is the benchmark for
the safe electrical installations.
Every three years the NEC is revised to keep pace with
technology and enhance safety.
Get the latest updates of this code with nationally
recognized
electrical trainer Mike Holt. Code revisions to be
covered include:
• Expanded AFCI protection in wiring systems
• New rules for GFCI protection
• Identification of ungrounded branch circuit and
feeder connectors
• New requirements for multi-wire branch circuits
• New requirements for tamper-resistant receptacles
• Clarification of the terms “bonded” and “grounded”
CSM, in partnership with Capital
Lighting and Supply, invites you to participate in the
2008 Electrical Expo and Product Fair following this
seminar. Meet with over 50 vendors to get a sneak
preview of the latest energy and labor-saving products,
and speak with vendors on what is new for 2008. The free
trade show will feature door prizes, contests, food,
beverages, and much more! Bus transportation will be
provided to and from the College of Southern Maryland’s
La Plata Campus in La Plata, MD to Martin’s West in
