This year marks the 40th anniversary of the College of Southern Maryland (CSM) Foundation serving the students and community of Southern Maryland. The CSM Foundation was established January 20, 1970 as the fund-raising arm of CSM. Since its inception, the Foundation has been dedicated to its mission to raise and manage funds, and to provide support to strengthen and develop the college and its objectives. From the award of its first scholarship, to the purchase of high-tech equipment, to funding the building of an entire facility, the CSM Foundation has raised millions of dollars for scholarships, programs, construction, technology and equipment in its 40-year existence.
This year the Foundation celebrates the outstanding educational opportunities and services that have been provided to the Southern Maryland community and students, and acknowledges the fundraising and friend-raising efforts of its volunteer board, composed of 79 members through the years. The CSM Foundation begins its year-long celebration on March 14 at the Ward Virts Concert Series featuring renowned pianist Brian Ganz.
