Inside Our School World: African-American Schools during a Century of Segregation,
Charles County, Maryland exhibit and web site celebrates the academic achievements of the
Charles County African-American community,
despite the hardships imposed by racial
segregation from the 1860s to the 1960s. This is a dynamic and evolving site. The purpose of which is to
add new information, as it becomes available. Owing to the interactive element of this site, we hope it
will grow in content and depth with the addition of new material that will come from those visitors
who wish to take advantage of the opportunity to share their knowledge of and experiences in the
County's
