The College of Southern Maryland (CSM) Foundation Board of Directors announces that MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer Dawn Yeitrakis ’96 has joined the foundation board as its newest director.
Yeitrakis has had a long-serving relationship with the college since graduating from CSM with her degree in nursing. She currently serves on CSM’s Nursing Program Advisory Board and has been a guest speaker at several CSM events, including the Center for Health Sciences groundbreaking and dedication and multiple nurse pinning ceremonies.
“Dawn has a long history as one of CSM’s champions, using her 27 years of nursing experience to help shape the college’s, and the region’s, programs and provide invaluable support to our students,” said Toni Kruszka '11, interim executive director of the CSM Foundation. “We know that she will bring a valuable perspective to the board and are thrilled to have her as a partner.”
“I am excited to continue my long-standing relationship with CSM in this new role, advocating for our students and gaining additional resources for the institution,” Yeitrakis said.
Yeitrakis received her bachelor’s degree in Nursing from the University of Maryland at Baltimore and holds a master's degree from the University of Maryland at Baltimore in Nursing, Heath Services Leadership and Management with a focus on teaching and learning for health professions.
The CSM Foundation, a nonprofit, 501(c)3 charitable organization established in 1970, helps increase access to higher education at CSM through scholarship funding and assures the excellence of that education by raising and managing funds for college projects and objectives – including workforce development in Southern Maryland. The CSM Foundation is comprised of a tri-county, all-volunteer board of directors.
