“Visit our beautiful campuses, learn about your educational opportunities, and meet our faculty and staff who are ready to prepare you for your higher education journey.”

The College of Southern Maryland (CSM) is holding five open house events over the next two weeks, inviting the community to join faculty, staff and students to learn the many ways the ‘community’s’ college serves students, businesses and community partners. Whether you want to take the first step in your path to college, earn additional certifications to advance your career, study a new hobby, or familiarize yourself with the college’s arts and entertainment offerings, come learn how CSM can help you reach your goals.

“Visit our beautiful campuses, learn about your educational opportunities, and meet our faculty and staff who are ready to prepare you for your higher education journey,” said CSM Director of Admissions Jakyrra Tyson. “Hear firsthand from our students about how CSM is preparing them for their future careers. Leave feeling excited about how CSM will prepare you for your future career, too.”

Open houses will be held on each of the four campuses, as well as virtually. The Prince Frederick Campus will host an open house on April 23 at 5 p.m.; the Leonardtown Campus on April 25 at 5 p.m.; the La Plata Campus on April 27 at 12 p.m.; virtually on April 30 at 5 p.m.; and at the Regional Hughesville Campus on May 1 at 5 p.m.

At each open house, prospective students can visit tables where they can collect information and giveaways about everything from financial aid to athletics; hear presentations from faculty and staff about the variety of pathways and programs that lead to a career or prepare you for a four-year degree; and see demos of the kinds of hands-on experience CSM offers students. For students already looking towards their next step, there will even be information available at CSM’s transfer agreements, which guarantee admissions to certain universities and colleges for CSM graduates.

CSM enrollment coordinators will be available at each event to help students complete their admissions application. Attendees will also be entered into a drawing for a $500 Help a Hawk Scholarship to get them started on achieving their goals; one scholarship will be awarded per event.

Registration is encouraged but not required. For more information and to register, visit www.csmd.edu/openhouse or contact admissions at 301-934-2251, option 0.
