The College of Southern Maryland (CSM) Volunteer Squad spent Friday, March 1 reading to excited students at J.P. Ryon Elementary School in Waldorf to help celebrate Read Across America.
Sharing in the fun reading books to the elementary school students in grades pre-K to 5th grade were CSM Professor Turner Coggins, current and former CSM students, Student Needs, Resource and Outreach Coordinator Jehnell Linkins, retired CSM employees and community partners. CSM mascot ‘Talon’ was also on hand to visit several classes, cheer on the readers, and pass along high fives.
