I started as a full-time student in 1987. It took me a long time to complete my degree; you have a family, a career, you have to work, it's a lot so I took a class here and a class there when I could fit one in…the beauty of the College of Southern Maryland is that you can complete your degree or certificate program at your own pace.

I decided the year I turned 40 I was going to pursue my degree. I was a single mom, got busy building my family, but going to school and getting my degree was always so important to me. CSM has really helped me advance my career in ways that I didn't expect...the things that you'll take away are fantastic.

I was inspired to become an engineer. I chose CSM because it had an amazing degree program for engineering. I started the National Society of Black Engineers Club ... After CSM I will complete my bachelor's degree; I'll be working in internship programs throughout my schooling. I plan to become an astronaut.
