The Power of Journaling: Therapeutic Writing Workshop

April 13, 2022,  2:30 - 4:30 p.m.

Writing in a journal can be a huge benefit to our mental health. Whether you journal every day or every few weeks, it can be a very valuable tool for when you get stuck. Whether it was a good day or a challenging one, having a safe place to express your feelings with no concern of consequences is something that everyone can benefit from. Come learn more and hear from your peers. Participation raffle will be held.

Please note: this workshop is only open to students.

Written submissions are encouraged but not mandatory. Written submissions can be submitted to Natasha Miller at nvmiller@csmd.edu by April 6, 2022. Participants can come prepared to read their own writing or can request to have their writing read by a member of Counseling Services staff. Depending upon number of submissions received, time may be afforded during the program to prepare a short answer in response to a prompt.

Please select one of the Mental Health Journaling Prompts below:

  • If you weren’t afraid, what are 3 things you would do?
  • Are there any ways you can think of to conquer the fear?
  • Describe a day you’ve had that started out bad but turned out to be a good day. How did you achieve that shift?
  • Write about a moment in your life in which you felt in control.
