CSM Foundation Board of Directors Adds Three New Members
The College of Southern Maryland (CSM) Foundation welcomes Pam Barnard, Destiny Hunter ‘15, and Kelly Williams ’10 to the Board of Directors, bringing professional expertise and philanthropy experience to support CSM student achievement.
The CSM Foundation serves as the fundraising arm of the college connecting donors and regional partners to support students and expand access to educational pathways and academic resources.
Executive Director Susan Mudd Vogel said the new members bring valuable experience and connections to the board that will help strengthen the Foundation’s work.
“We are excited to welcome these three members and grateful for the commitment they have made to our board and the CSM community,” Vogel said. “Each one brings unique experiences, talents, and connections to Southern Maryland that will help strengthen the Foundation’s mission.”
Pam Barnard is the Director of Patient Experience Transformation at MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital and brings a strong background in healthcare administration and workforce development. In her role, Barnard leads strategic efforts to improve patient care and satisfaction, and helps coordinate the hospital’s SPIRIT Awards program, which recognizes staff who go above and beyond to provide exceptional patient care.
As a member of the Foundation Board of Directors, Barnard looks forward to strengthening community partnerships, expanding opportunities for students, and developing the local healthcare workforce.
Destiny Hunter ’15 is a decorated U.S. Army veteran and the founder and managing member of Kuinua Tech LLC, an IT consulting firm providing technology solutions and support.
Through her military service and entrepreneurial experience, Hunter has built relationships across the region’s government, nonprofit, and private sectors, and has supported the professional development of future leaders within these fields.
Hunter established the Kuinua Together Annual Scholarship in 2023, which supports students pursuing associate degrees in information systems, computer science, or cybersecurity and information technology.
A proud CSM alumna, Hunter hopes to help create pathways for CSM students to pursue their academic goals, achieve economic mobility, and contribute to the regional workforce.
Kelly Williams ’10, a human resources professional at ASEC, a Department of Defense contractor, hopes to use her professional experience to advocate for accessible education and the opportunities it creates for students.
Williams earned an associate degree from CSM as an adult learner, balancing the responsibilities of work, school, and everyday life. She credits the college’s flexibility and support of non-traditional students with helping her succeed academically and professionally. As a member of the board, Williams will continue to be an advocate for education as a pathway to economic mobility and looks forward to helping future CSM students achieve the same success.
Currently, there are 17 members of the Foundation Board. The new members are appointed to a three-year term and have the option to renew their term twice.
